Farm Clinical Lead

Carolyn Baguley - Farm Clinical Lead
Carolyn Baguley MA VetMB CertAVP (Cattle) MRCVS RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Cattle Health and Production Farm Clinical Lead

Carolyn grew up near Leicester, graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 2005 and worked in a small animal practice in London for two years until 2007. She was then bitten by the travel bug, and moved to New Zealand to pursue her real interest – farm vetting. She spent the next three years learning to do things the Kiwi way in a rural, dairy-focused practice.

Carolyn has been with Scarsdale Vets since 2010 and is an RCVS Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in Cattle Health and Production. She is particularly interested in lameness, mastitis and infectious disease control and is a trained Mobility Mentor for the AHDB Dairy Healthy Feet Programme, an AHDB Dairy Mastitis Control Plan deliverer, a MilkSure registered vet, a TBAS deliverer, a BCVA Accredited Johne’s Veterinary Adviser and has BVDFree/BCVA certification. She likes nothing better, than to sit round a farm kitchen table after a busy morning’s scanning, drinking coffee and talking about herd health, disease control, medicine use or milk test results!

Carolyn is also a Mental Health First Aider (through RABI) and sits on the steering group of the Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy, which offers spiritual and pastoral support to the agricultural and rural community in Derbyshire. She and her husband have three children, two cats and very little spare time but when the opportunity does arise, she enjoys some baking, gentle pilates, cross stitch or jogging to help her take it easy once in a while!
